As you enter this website, please know upfront that my Christian faith, while shaken quite a bit in 2002, stands stronger than ever now in a living God who is committed to healing, restoration, and our welfare, but, at the same time, who is certainly a God of mystery who leaves us with a lot of unanswered questions. I mention mystery and questions, because this site’s central focus is on a fatality, a horrible set of injuries, and the aftereffects in the weeks, months, and years that follow. In terms of questions, for example, people often ask, “Why do bad things happen to good people?” However, one thing I've certainly come to realize in all this is that our Lord's undeserved favor, His GRACE, is every bit as mysterious as the accidents, misfortunes, and hurts that come our way in life. In His Word, He says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9).
And so I've come to celebrate my areas of weaknesses, and the things which force reliance upon a trustworthy, mighty, and gracious God. I am now sincerely thankful for those things which make me desperately depend upon my Strength and my Song. I now trust more than ever that He is, “an ever-present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1), and I know I can testify to the truth of His ongoing amazing grace.
