A Heavenly Wedding

God helps us understand His relationship with us by giving us some cool analogies in Scripture. One that Jesus centers on quite a bit is the picture of a Father and His children. I have used this wonderful metaphor largely as the focus of my devotional blogs up until now, but I'm gonna shift this month to another (and I'll explain why shortly).

Paul told the Ephesians, "Husbands love your wives, as Christ loved the church..." and in Revelation, God's people are referred to as His Bride (Rev. 19:7), invited to the Wedding Supper of the Lamb. (John the Baptist also referred to Jesus as the Bridegroom who would come for His bride [John 3:29].)

This month I look at the husband & wife analogy because, in 2 weeks, Christe and I will be celebrating our 3-year wedding anniversary.

Oh, she is such a special treasure to me... my bride! Multiple times a day I thank the Lord for gracing me with her! She is my sweet and beautiful delight, and... I could go on and on... but then I know that God in heaven loves us, HIS bride, infinitely more than I can hope or dream or muster to love Christe!! To such a degree that He humbled Himself to death on a cross (Phil. 2:8)... to make a way for us to be with Him forever, to show us that everlasting love!

I can't wait for that heavenly wedding supper!
