For several Facebook posts recently, I have showed JoJo glimpsing at his newly blossoming pear tree that we planted last fall. As a dad (and as a pastor), I'll admit that I often look for teachable moments or things that illustrate the truths of life. Well, I would say that this tree-planting effort really has come through (and our son is certainly a teachable one) besides being tons of fun.
This song by one of my favorite artists explains exactly what I mean about this tree planting picture and the significance of producing meaningful "harvest" or "fruit" from what you've worked to "plant"...
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
